Stevens carried a very compact 16 mm camera, and he had cassettes of Kodachrome. He shot film and put it away. By the 1960s, Stevens didn’t want anything further to do with the war. After he passed away, his son discovered the film. Stevens, Jr., tells how he found the rusty cans and put the film together. He went into a projection room and turned on the projector; suddenly, there was WWII in brilliant color. The video he made from this footage has been widely acclaimed.
